Sustainability is a word that gets used a lot. The most widely used definition and the one that drives our work is: “Sustainability means meeting our own needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. In addition to natural resources, we also need social and economic resources.”
At Ecoripples, we are really interested in companies that are applying this definition to their brands and products. We look for companies that are trying to make a difference by having positive social and environmental impact.
If you are interested in learning more about the idea of sustainability, we have put together a list of the best sustainability links. We will continue to update this list, so please let us know if you think there are any we should add. Leave us a note in the comments!

I’ve got a great resource you can add to your list: https://www.kars4kids.org/sustainability-resources/.
In this resource, we’ve included the history and overview—all sourced and linked to authoritative resources—on the issues that threaten our air and water. In addition, there are also sections on waste and transportation as they affect our environment.
In each section of this resource, we’ve included tips on what regular people can do toward a more sustainable world and future. In fact, we geared this resource to the layman, to make it easy to understand for everyone.
Kars4Kids recycles donated cars that no longer meet current standards, and we hope to awaken interest in the public about the need to reuse, reduce, and recycle.
We hope you’ll consider adding our sustainability resources to your helpful list of links on the subject so that more people have a chance to learn about and take action on these critical environmental issues!

Sustainability is a concept that has become increasingly prominent in discussions about environmental stewardship and responsible resource management. At its core, sustainability encompasses more than just preserving natural resources; it involves meeting our current needs in a way that ensures the well-being of future generations. This holistic definition emphasizes the interconnectedness of environmental, social, and economic factors in achieving long-term sustainability. By considering not only the conservation of natural resources but also the equitable distribution of social and economic resources, we can strive for a balanced and resilient society that supports both present and future needs. Embracing sustainability as a guiding principle in our actions and decision-making processes is essential for creating a world where people and the planet can thrive indefinitely.
